HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I don't do resolutions, but I do have some things I want to work toward accomplishing.

1. Loose weight. I know that this has been a goal for some time, but I still need to work on it.

2. Have sex with another person. I did manage to do this once in 2010 but it's been much too long.

3. Buy a house. I need to stop paying rent on an apartment that the landlord isn't the most interested in. I have spent half the cost of a house in rent the last 6 years and it's time for something a little more permanent. It's not like I'm going very far in the near future.

4. Work on getting more education (formal or otherwise) that will get me back into a classroom. What??? Well, this experience of a 'real job' has made me realize that I really am one of those people that was called to teaching. I just can't do it on the high school level. I need a community college position. I don't want to work at a uni b/c i have no desire to do research, and high schoolers are a pain. So I either need to find a position in health (not P.E.), get 18 hours of graduate credit in something I do want to teach, or work on getting a full-time developmental biology gig (RARE). I would LOVE to do a sex ed/STD course, but I don't know how possible that is.

5. Stop spending so much money. This one will be pretty easy since the holiday season is over. My child got much too much because I picked up a few things here and there. I didn't realize until all the gifts were wrapped and placed into a pile.

6. Drink less. I honestly don't drink much to begin with. This is my NYE hangover talking right now, and is specifically for Dec 31, 2011.

7. Cook more (and healthier). I love to cook, but my time is so limited now. I need to make an effort to cook more on the weekends for quick weekday/lunchtime meals.

8. Read more. Not just fanfic, but other things too.

9. Spend more time appreciating mom, dad, and the young man. This time is precious and fleeting.

10. Figure out how to not have a child that wears a size of shoe not regularly sold in stores. He is now 11 and wearing a size 10 men's shoe. DAYUM!

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful day and has a prosperous and happy new year!
