If you are in the U.S. and have the ability, make sure that you vote at some point.

not to be nosey, but did you file absentee for the national election, or was this a local vote? i ask because i'm a little confused. we're not due to vote here until the day of the national election.

In North Carolina, early voting (not quite absentee, because you can actually go to polling places) takes place from Oct. 16-Nov 1. We don't need an excuse to vote early like in some states.

This year, we can even register to vote at the same time if we weren't already. We just have to prove that we have lived in the state for 30 days.

There is still the mail-in absentee ballot for those living outside NC, but that should have been postmarked by the 10-Oct.

Ummm...i think that's all about the voting thing. I know that 56% of the folks who have voted so far in NC have been Democrats and a large proportion of those are people that don't normally vote at all. We have record #s of people registered to vote that had never voted before.
